As reported by John Myers
KQED's Sacramento Bureau Chief
February, 2005:

BobbleheadsIf you remember the guy who made the Schwarzenegger bobbleheads last year and was sued by the governor's attorneys, then you might have understood what the non-reporter asked who got his own question in at the news conference near the Capitol's Statuary Hall.

John Edgell says the case cost him $20,000, even though the bobblehead profits were given to a cancer charity.

He lives in DC, and showed up to ask the governor, "why did you sue me?"

The governor said, "I don't know what you're talking about" and moved on.

Edgell then called Schwarzenegger a "sissy", as he displayed the latest version of the bobblehead-- a likeness of the governor in a pink dress... supposedly sold as a "Governor Girlie Man."

GovernorGirlieMan.com's Editorial Comments:

Well, of course as with any Hollywood epic there's a 'backstory':

It seems Arnold's memory's as poor as his acting skills.

Maybe that's what Arnold meant with this classic quote: "If it's hard to remember, it's hard to forget."

Here are the facts, to help with the Governor's convenient memory loss:

Arnold and Maria personally praised and encouraged the new "Arnold with a Gun" bobblehead during a brief visit at the NBC 'Meet the Press' studios in Washington, DC in mid-February,  2004.

"Thank you," said Maria; "Good luck," said Arnold.

In early May, 2004, Arnold's $400 an hour Beverly Hills trial lawyer, Marty Singer, filed a frivolous shakedown lawsuit -- apparently at the direction of Maria -- and clearly in an effort to extract insurance monies.

The bobblehead lawsuit received more media coverage than the Governor's first foreign trip to Israel, Jordan and Germany that same week [so much for carefully-made plans, huh?].

For several months trial lawyer Singer and self-proclaimed 'Arnold's best friend' and officemate Paul Wachter provided Arnold and Maria with numerous updates on the status of the "Arnold with a Gun" bobblehead lawsuit.

Wachter was charged with extracting Arnold and Maria from humiliation caused by Singer's bogus lawsuit, but he only managed to make things much worse.   He relied on the bullying tactics that worked so well when Arnold was a Hollywood mega-star, but in the political world bullying backfires.

Given that Arnold now faces six years of being portrayed as "Arnold in a Pink Dress,"  don't expect this episode listed on either Singer's or Wachter's career highlight reel.

Arnold and Maria both approved a shakedown settlement of my bobblehead vendor's insurance firm, which allowed payment of a 'significant' sum to Arnold's All-Stars, the Governor's personal pet charity, and to purchase an expensive fire truck vehicle in Nimishillen Township, Ohio, a small town near Canton.

Arnold and Maria were both aware that this settlement would deny funds to the intended original cancer charity, and apparently bought into Singer and Wachter's assurances that it was 'Game Ovah' for satirical Schwarzenegger bobbleheads.

Others say the sleazy self-dealing to Arnold's All-Stars was merely a back-door way to pay trial attorney Singer a 'significant' sum from the 'significant' sum, at the expense of the cancer charity.

But we'll never really know if or how much Singer pocketed, because he made sure the settlement was permanently sealed from public disclosure.

Moreover, Governor Schwarzenegger has had perhaps a dozen private conversations with staff, the media, or the public on this specific topic, namely how Singer and Wachter diverted funds meant for a cancer charity, with the result the "Arnold in a Pink Dress" bobbleheads.

Moreover, 'Schwarzenegger the Sissy' sought for the Governor's security staff to keep individuals with Governor Girlie Man bobbleheads from approaching him.

Gosh, Governor, if it is hard to remember, it is hard to forget.

But then again, with Singer and Wachter as two close longtime advisors apparently so politically clueless and the source of such poor legal counsel,  "Arnold in a Pink Dress" aims to spend the next six years making sure you never forget what you can't remember.
